The Raleigh Arts Commission is delighted to announce its new Artist of Tomorrow Scholarship program. Scholarships will be one-time awards to high school seniors pursuing full-time higher educational study in the fields of Dance, Theatre/Musical Theatre, Literary, Music, or Visual Arts. Scholarships will be paid directly to an accredited post-secondary college, and may be used to pay for student expenses including tuition, fees, books, or room and board.   • Finalized research topics (told Ms. Elliott)
  • Brief discussion on researching/taking notes.  You need to determine the style most appropriate for you.   At the end of class Friday, I should be able to see evidence of the exploration of at least one source, specific information (citation material) for that source, and a WORKING THESIS.

Please remind your seniors of the Six Key Ways to prepare for College Application Week:

1. Make sure students know their Novell logins - username and password

2. Set up a CFNC account and password

3. Complete your High School Planner so that information auto-populates on every

    new application

4. Complete your Student Information Checklist and bring with you to College     

    Application Day(November 19) so that you have all important information on

     hand when you apply

5. Research colleges and universities using the College Fair tab on CFNC  and

6. Write and review your essay before College Application Day, if applicable. Save

    on a jump drive and bring with you to College Application Day(November 19) you

    can use to copy and paste into your online application. Make sure you have a hard

    copy as well for back up

  • Homecoming door decorating: bring it decorative items (vines, spiders, lights, shoe boxes, posterboard)
  • Macbeth Facebook:  we discussed and began creating paper "networks" of Facebook-style pages for characters.  On these pages, we will have profiles, information, status updates (as we continue reading), comments to others' status updates, notes, quiz results, etc.)
  • Broke into "network" teams and created a "creator page," and a page for Macbeth, Witches (together), Banquo, and Duncan.  We will continue to add characters/pages as we work our way through the play.  You may take things home to work on (drawing, computer, etc.) to bring back and post to your page.
